Arrest made for Christmas Eve shooting in Carrboro

The suspect who fired a shot on Christmas Eve at 3:11 a.m., causing a 19-year-old male to be transported to UNC-CH hospital with life-threatening injuries, has been arrested. Daniel Cruz Rivera, age 19, of Durham, was being sought by Carrboro Police. Arrest warrants were obtained, but initial attempts to locate Cruz Rivera were unsuccessful.

Cruz Rivera was located and arrested in Durham by the US Marshals Carolinas Regional Taskforce. He is confined in the Durham County Jail under a no-bond hold.
