The search for a missing person at Jordan Lake has concluded with the recovery of a body.
Chatham County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel began searching the area near the U.S. 64 bridge late Wednesday night after receiving information about the individual’s last known location. An unoccupied vehicle was located near the bridge.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted the search with assistance from Chatham County Emergency Management, Lee County Emergency Management, the North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department, and North Carolina State Parks.
Around 1 p.m. today, a body was recovered from the lake.
No foul play is suspected.
The Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family during this difficult time.
