Chris Cash 1969-2021

OBITUARY

Chris Cash passed away in his home Dec. 12 2021, in Carrboro, NC peacefully in his sleep. He was 52 years old. 

He was born April 23 1969, in Alamogordo, NM. He grew up on Damascus Church Rd. in Chapel Hill with his parents, Donna and Ken. Chris raced at the Orange County speedway with his brother, Mark, as a young adult. He married his wife Allison in 1993. Chris worked at Orange County as a Network Administrator for 9 years. 

Chris loved his family. He enjoyed taking his son, Carson, to baseball tournaments. He loved racing his RC cars with his friends at tournaments. You would often find him taking care of his truck or working on his RC cars, while watching Carolina games. He was a huge Tarheels fan, as well as a NASCAR fan. His idol was Dale Earnhardt. Chris was a very soft, kind and welcoming person. 

He is survived by his wife Allison; his children Carson and Courtney; his mom Donna; his brother Mark; his birth-mother Shirley; as well as a large extended family. He is also survived in memory by his many friends; from Damascus, from racing at the speedway or RC, and the people he worked with. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. His father, Kenneth, passed away in 2020, and will be welcoming Chris into heaven with open arms. 

Chris will be buried at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 2021, at Damascus Church on Damascus Church Road in Chapel Hill. A celebration of his life will be held afterward at Chris and Allison’s home.  There will be a visitation at Walker’s Funeral home Wednesday, Dec.15 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to come to any or all of the dates and times.
