The Public Education Action Team of the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties is hosting a virtual panel discussion with superintendents representing local district PK-12 public schools, Wednesday April 27, 2022, 7:00-8:00 p.m. The superintendents of Chapel Hill-Carrboro City, Chatham County, Durham Public and Orange County school systems are joining us.
Now more than ever public schools need our support. As taxpayers and good consumers, many people want to know where resources come from, how school budgets are created and approved, and how spending is connected to educational quality and equity. Questions about how state and federal funding interact with local funding and how this impacts districts are common.
Our goal is that attendees come away more informed about the process of funding public schools and confident in the investment they are making in our public schools, be it as a parent, employee, taxpayer or interested member of the public.
