The Poetry of George Moses Horton

The Poetry of George Moses Norton: Noted author, screenwriter, scholar and North Carolina native, Dr. Cecil Brown, has called Horton one of the original Hip-Hop artists. In this presentation, Dr. Brown will talk about and show a video of places that inspired Horton’s poetry. He will be joined by Joyah Horton, an eleventh grader at Carrboro High and a descendant of George Horton, who will read one of Horton’s poems and provide a reflection on the program.
