Happy 100!

Mrs. Herta

COMMUNITY

Mrs. Herta could not have or attend an August birthday party in the middle of COVID-19.

But her amazing family and care partners (Veronica, Pam, Dan, Michael and Bascilia) put together a 100th birthday Zoom gathering, a small family dinner, cake and a parade in front of her home in Chapel Hill’s Meadowmont.

Neighbors and friends near and far were alerted to the time for the parade and they drove by waving, honking, singing — whatever it took. Even a fire truck did a round!.

Happy birthday, Mrs. Herta!  One hundred years — what an accomplishment. Here she sits on her front porch with her water glass, poster, card and a big smile watching her parade.
