CHAPEL HILL– The Town of Chapel Hill was no exception to the hundreds of places where No Kings rallies were held last Saturday.
Thousands of local citizens congregated at Peace and Justice Plaza on Franklin Street Saturday to protest the policies and actions of the Trump administration. State Senators Natalie Murdock and Graig Meyer and Representative Allen Buansi urged protesters, lining both sides of Franklin Street, to stand up and speak out for democracy. Town Council members from Chapel Hill and Carrboro joined what one spectator commented, “felt as much like a celebration of democracy as a protest against tyranny”.
