ANNOUNCEMENTS

Greetings, friends and fellow Carrboro residents!

In less than two weeks, we will make a little history together. I will be the first person _ever_ to be sworn into office as a Town Council member in Carrboro. That’s right, our Board of Aldermen will be officially renamed Town Council on the day of my swearing in, and I relish the opportunity to become its newest member. It will be a real privilege to join Mayor Lydia Lavelle, Mayor Pro Tem Damon Seils, Barbara Foushee, Jacquie Gist, Randee Haven-O’Donnell, and Sammy Slade on Carrboro’s Town Council.

Also for the first time _ever_, a resident from Lake Hogan Farms, the largest neighborhood in Carrboro, will have a seat on Town Council. Of course, I will strive to do what is best for all of Carrboro over the next four years. At the same time, I am honored to bring more representation from the northern neighborhoods to the town’s decision-making process.

To share this special moment, please join us for the swearing-in ceremony on:

Tuesday, December 3 at 7:00 pm
Carrboro Town Hall
301 W. Main Street, Carrboro

After the oath, I will slip into the gigantic shoes of Bethany Chaney, who served on the Board of Aldermen for the past four years, adding a passionate, eloquent, thoughtful voice, especially around affordable housing issues. Nobody can completely fill Bethany’s shoes. But, I’ll do my best to walk in them.

Hope to see you for the passing of the baton on Tuesday, December 3rd.

Until then, best wishes for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Susan
