The County & Climate Change

By Mark Marcoplos

I have been invited to present on Orange County’s innovative responses to climate change along with representatives for three other municipalities around the country. When I initiated the climate investment tax and the Orange County Climate Council, one of the key effects that I anticipated was that these innovative actions would spur similar approaches by other municipalities.
I am aware that regional governments are watching our success here, but am very gratified to be invited to speak from a national platform and thus multiply the effects of the initiatives I spearheaded in Orange County.

Mark Marcoplos is an Orange County Commissioner.
