Town Should Provide a Replacement for the University Place Recycling Center

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

By Toby Galinkin

The hugely successful recycling center at University Place is going to vanish January 31. This is quite alarming and distressing as this particular center has had a faithful following with all bins being fully utilized — they are full almost all the time, a great manifestation of our local citizens being green and responsible. The recycling center has also served as a place to donate books and magazines to share with others. I sincerely hope that the Town can find another location as Eubanks Road is a bit of a haul for some of us. The Carrboro recycling center is also gone. This town needs to help us all do our share to reduce waste and help our environment.
